Materials
We work in a variety of materials,
most commonly in solid pine or hardwood, but also mdf in cases where
the unit will be over-painted. Owing to the tendency of mdf to have
rough edges, we usually allow for a thin strip of pine edging to
give it the durability and feel of timber.
Finish
Many of our clients prefer to have the
unit unfinished for them to over-paint, varnish or wax themselves.
In these cases we always offer advice and tips on the best method
for the material. Due to the fact that applying the finish ourselves
usually requires 2 or 3 visits to apply subsequent coats, and can
work out a bit expensive. However, we always offer this as an option
for those who dont have the time or inclination for painting.
Installation
Most units are built and
assembled on-site from pre-cut materials. During the installation we
need clear access to the installation area as well as a work area,
usually in the same room, although we prefer to do the cutting and
preparation outdoors if the weather is fine.
Guarantee
Every unit we build is guaranteed
for 2 years against defect based on normal use. If you encounter any
problems after installation just let us know and we'll sort it out.
